English loanwords adaptation into Khowar

This research work deciphers English loanwords adaptation in Khowar language. It
explored that the selected words gone through different adaptable variations in terms of
phonology when borrowed from English. Qualitative method is used in this study. Data
was collected from real-life conversation of 20 Khowar native speakers in Pakistan.
Participants were comprised of educated and non educated class of Khowar speakers.
Findings of the study show that English loanwords went through different phonological
processes such as epenthesis, substitution, deletion and addition when borrowed into
Khowar. It is also discovered that the process of deletion is least occurred and
substitution mostly occurred phenomenon. Furthermore, this study explored the reason
poor pronunciation of English and way out solution to improve it.
